Hello there Mark,
It was a pleasure to meet you at the symposium, and I am so inspired by what you're doing in South Australia!
You have helped me see the enormous potential of developing the links between local producers and the Tyalgum Festival. We have made some connections this year with Madura Tea and Tweed Valley Whey Farmhouse Cheeses, but the potential is enormous for exposing our patrons to more of the best our region has to offer.
For instance, right here in Tyalgum, close friends of mine Rod & Tania Bruin, own and operate Summit Organics, specialising in herbs and vegetables. They already run Farm Walks which are very popular and growing in attendances. Exposing our database to this sort of thing is obviously great for the Bruins, and for our patrons.
Our local general store owners, Karen Nixon and Steve Berndt, have developed their own product line "Tastes of Tyalgum", there's the famous Flutterbies cakes ... and of course our festival concert breaks with home-baked "country" goodies served on gingham tablecloths.
Through having met so many tourism operators and businesspeople in the past 2 days, I look forward to staying in touch with them and hopefully developing mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations.
All the best, and I hope to meet up with you again some time ... and a trip to Adelaide is now most definitely on my "Must Do" list!
Cheers Mark and thanks for sharing your passion and providing such inspiration!
Alex:)
